...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 PM AKST FRIDAY THROUGH THOMPSON PASS... * WHAT...Heavy snow is expected. Plan on difficult driving conditions. Total snow accumulations of 20 to 30 inches are expected through Friday afternoon. Highest amounts are expected near the top of the pass. As snow levels rise, snow will transition to rain in the lower parts of Thompson Pass. * WHERE...Thompson Pass for heavy snow. * WHEN...10 AM today to 4 PM Friday. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will rise throughout the day Thursday reaching near the pass level by the afternoon. Valdez and lower elevations can expect mostly rain, perhaps mixed with snow in the morning. The rain will be heavy at times, with 2 to 3 inches of rainfall expected near sea level. This rain in addition to heavy snowfall from yesterday may produce localized ponding or minor flooding in the Valdez area. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
